Discounted Prices in Warehouse Stores

For $30 to $100 per year, you can buy a membership to a warehouse store. If you have a large family or a small business, a warehouse store membership may be just the thing for you. Their discounted prices are based on volume purchases and purchases of overstock or liquidated stock from manufacturers and distributors. They also carry generic products with their own label. These products are made by brand name companies but because the product does not carry the brand name, the warehouse store can sell the products at a price discount.

Be prepared to buy in bulk, which means you’ll need the storage space for 48 rolls of toilet paper or 6 bags of dipping chips. Be careful when shopping at these stores. You need to know the retail price of the items you want to buy since not all items sold at a warehouse store are sold at discounted prices. While a large two pack of brand name cereal may be a lot cheaper, olive oil and syrup may be at or above the prices you can get in your local grocery store. True, there are some great deals in a warehouse store, but not on every product! 

These stores also offer larger items like grills, backyard tents, sporting goods, exercise equipment, tools, and appliances and sometimes the discounted price offers a significant savings.  Bring your Christmas list to a warehouse store and buy baby clothes, or pay discount prices on big label clothing for women and men. During a recent visit to a warehouse store we found a 75% discounted price on three books written by top authors. Not a bad deal! 

Some warehouse stores are known for their excellent baked goods and price discounts. You can order a large cake for and event and get a discounted price that will save you a substantial sum. Prepared foods are moderately priced and offer a well prepared, tasty dinner at a significant price discount for a family of 2-4.  

So, if you have a large family or if you want to split the volume packaging with friends and family you can make good use of your annual membership investment and benefit from the discounted prices the warehouse store offers. But, be careful. All of those great prices will often blind you to the total expenditure and it is easy to walk out of a warehouse store having spent more than $200.00!
